The Components
alphadidact® Digital – The System in Detail
Star Topology
In star topology, all workstation connection modules are directly connected to a central unit. Thanks to this point-to-point connection, optimal signal quality and maximum reliability are ensured—especially in large training rooms. Training rooms with over 120 participant stations have already been successfully networked in a star configuration. If a module is ever disconnected from the system, it does not affect the other connections. This topology is particularly recommended when coupling training rooms.
Student Box
Compact and robust. The Student Box offers connection options for a local signal source as well as a monitor per station. Alternatively, only the signal source or only a monitor can be connected.
Through the C-Unit port of the box, all modules are connected to the central unit in the star system. A fail-safe circuit ensures the workstation's operational readiness at all times.
Instructor Matrix
The instructor's station is integrated into the alphadidact® Digital system via the Instructor Matrix. It includes connections for a local signal source, a monitor, an additional laptop, and two separately controllable projectors/displays. Using the two A+B lines to the central unit, the instructor can simultaneously send a signal and view any signal source. All available control elements for managing the multimedia system are also connected to the Instructor Matrix.
Central Unit
The central unit is available in different sizes and forms the technical hub of the network. Through cascading and coupling multiple units, systems can be linked together, reducing cable requirements in large training rooms.
Ring Topology
In ring topology, the connection modules are wired in series. The connection between the modules is made via DVI, HDMI, or optical (fiber optic) cables. Any interruption in the ring system is immediately detected via the touchscreen at the instructor's station, with the exact location of the fault displayed. This system is especially suitable for smaller training rooms.
Ring Box
The alphadidact® Digital Ring Training System is ideal for small training rooms with a maximum of 25 workstations. The ring arrangement of the connection modules requires only a short cable between modules, reducing the overall cable length and simplifying the installation.
Technically, all modules are identical. The function (instructor/student) and the address of the modules (participant number) are set internally.
