University of Passau (Germany)
The Unversity of Passau installed a 24-seat multi functional classroom using the alphadidact ® digital system at the end of 2015.
This room was required to handle group collaboration, as well as instructor-led classes for a flipped classroom, hybrid learning environment. The alphadidact ® digital allows a seamless, easy switch between both functions.
For group collaboration the students are arranged around small tables with up to 5 students each. Each student has a ThinClient PC with 24" FullHD screen and every table is fitted with a 40" FullHD LCD Display.
An EBS 6x2 collaboration switches allows every student at the touch of a table-mounted button to transmit to their table's 40" LCD screen to discuss their work with group members.
At any time the instructor can take over full or partial control of the room using our alphadidact ® digital system + wireless control - transmitting from one pod to another, but also to and from all of the individual students' screens is done on-the-fly and allows for very flexible teaching styles.
Individual student computers can be remote-controlled from the instructor's station and the instructor can communicate with all or individual students via headset - using our dedicated AudioLine add-on.
Showing content from the instructor's laptop, showing one pod to the others or working collaboratively with a student on a particular problem, while the rest of the class can watch in high-resolution on their screens, all this and more is possible with this powerful combination of EBS products.
